Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi, APC) has been charged by the Federal Government for allegedly giving the police false information about an assassination attempt on his life in April, 2017.
The federal government through the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation charged Melaye before the FCT High Court for \allegedly falsely incriminating the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr. Edward Onoja, in the said assassination attempt.
In the charge signed by one Magaji Labaran, federal government said Melaye deliberately gave information to the police to frame Onoja as the mastermind of the assassination attempt on him at his hometown in Ayetoro-Gbede in Kogi State in April last year, but that during investigation, police discovered the information to be false.
